World Senior Citizen Day was celebrated on 19/08/2025 in the Community Health Centre of Holy Spirit Hospital, Jyoti Bhavan, Janssen Delite Auditorium. The event commenced with a welcome dance by our community leader and the traditional lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sr. Doris SSpS, and the Guest of Honour was Ms Freda Vincent. The celebration was adorned by the presence of Sr. Lissy SSpS (Executive Director), Sr.Merlyn SSpS (Community Health Centre Director), Dr. Anuja Sinha (Assistant Medical Director), Sr. Dipti SSpS, Dr. Anu Aurora, Dr. Shamshuddin Lala, and all staff members were in attendance.
Over 125 women and gentlemen from Andheri East, particularly from the slum community clinics where the Holy Spirit Community Health Centre provides free consultations and medicines with love and care, enthusiastically participated in the event. Despite heavy rains and traffic jams. Volunteers eagerly took the initiative to bring them on time.
To express gratitude, the Community Health Centre staff felicitated the esteemed guests with live plants, symbolising growth and appreciation. Dr. Anu Aurora, in her signature extraordinary style, skilfully anchored the event.
The Holy Spirit Nursing Institute students performed a touching role-play which illustrated the role of senior citizens in the family and emphasised that they are no less. And to keep learning from the new generation and family members to be visible in digital media and give positive input to society.
There was a presentation by Dr Anu Aurora on daily exercises to be done on getting up from bed. Plus, on various types of exercise which can be done for our joints health. To remain happy and contented. To help the family members and not to feel neglected. *Swasth Raho, Mast Raho, Khush Raho, Vyast Raho Aur Aabhari Raho* was the message from Dr Anu Aurora.
Holy Spirit Hospital Executive Director Sr Lissy, Assistant Medical Director Dr. Anuja Sinha, Chief guest Sr Doris, and Guest of honour Ms Freda Vincent also extended their messages.
The Program was further enriched by the benefactors of Holy Spirit Hospital who generously arranged gifts *Rise Against Hunger NGO, Aids Combat International, and Meet India Foundation*. Senior citizens were given a Cotton Utility bag with 3 dry khichdi packets, a pill box, and a bathing soap.
Breakfast and lunch were sponsored by Mrs. Reena and Mr Gaurav, our benefactors. The event concluded with a group photo session, followed by refreshments and a gathering that fostered a sense of unity and togetherness among all attendees.
World Senior Citizen Day celebration at Holy Spirit Hospital Community Health Centre was a true testament to the strength that they are no less. And to keep learning from the new generation and family members to be visible in digital media and give positive input to society. Where everyone feels appreciated and valued, no matter their age. It served as a platform, empowerment, and motivation, leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.
