Milestones in ED:
The Emergency Department at Holy Spirit Hospital, Mumbai has seen a major upgrade, enhancing the quality and efficiency of emergency care.
Originally equipped with just a single monitor bed, the department now features state-of-the-art facilities, with individual monitors at each bed for real-time monitoring of vital signs.
The revamped Emergency Room (ER) was inaugurated on 16th November 2021, marking a milestone in our healthcare infrastructure development.
The department is equipped with four ventilators, including one MRI-compatible ventilator for specialized emergency needs.
An automated CPR machine is available to ensure rapid and effective life-saving interventions.
A PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) has been integrated, enabling doctors to view imaging results instantly within the ER—eliminating the need for hard copies from Radiology.
Portable X-ray and ultrasound services are provided at the bedside for fast and accurate diagnosis.
The upgraded infrastructure enables us to deliver timely, technology-driven, and compassionate emergency care to patients in critical situations.

Emergency Codes
At Holy Spirit Hospital, we follow a color-coded emergency system to ensure swift and effective responses during critical situations:
- Code White: This is activated in the event of a stroke. It prompts immediate mobilization of our stroke team, ensuring rapid diagnosis and treatment to minimize brain damage and optimize recovery for the patient.
- Code Blue: This is called in cases of cardiac arrest, triggering an urgent response from our resuscitation team. We have well-established protocols to provide life-saving interventions, including the use of our automated CPR machine and advanced monitoring equipment.
- Code Yellow: This is declared during a disaster situation, such as mass casualties or a large-scale emergency. It activates our hospital’s disaster response plan, coordinating resources and personnel to manage the crisis efficiently and ensure care is provided to all affected individuals.
