  • At Holy Spirit Hospital, we are committed to upholding the dignity, safety, and well-being of every patient. As a valued patient, you have the right:

    1. To receive care in a safe, clean, and supportive environment—irrespective of age, gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or method of payment.

    2. To be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity, free from abuse, neglect, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.

    3. To have your personal values, cultural beliefs, and spiritual needs respected, including any specific preferences you may express.

    4. To seek a second opinion, either within or outside the hospital, without any fear of compromising your current treatment or care.

    5. To full protection of your privacy during examinations, procedures, and treatment, ensuring personal dignity is always maintained.

    6. To decide who can be informed about your care, including the right to control what information is shared with family members or others.

    7. To appropriate assessment and effective management of pain related to your medical condition.

    8. To receive compassionate and respectful care, especially during the end-of-life phase.

    9. To confidentiality of your health information, which will only be disclosed when required by law or authorized regulations.

    10. To be fully informed by your doctor about the proposed treatment or procedure, including the risks, benefits, expected outcomes, and available alternatives.

    11. To refuse any treatment, diagnostic procedure, or care, once the possible consequences have been explained to you.

    12. To provide informed consent before undergoing surgery, receiving blood transfusions, anesthesia, high-risk or invasive procedures, or participating in any research protocol.

    13. To raise a concern, voice a complaint, or report a grievance without fear, and to be informed of the hospital’s procedure for addressing such issues.

    14. To access your own medical records and health information upon request.

    15. To receive ongoing information and education regarding your care plan, health status, and treatment options—and to actively participate in decisions about your care.

    16. To know the identity and professional role of all individuals involved in your care and treatment.

    17. To be informed of the estimated cost of treatment and receive updates on billing as required.

    18. To understand the hospital’s rules and regulations that affect your care and conduct during your stay.

    At Holy Spirit Hospital, we believe that healthcare is a shared journey built on trust, respect, and cooperation. To help us provide the best possible care, we request our patients and their families to fulfill the following responsibilities:

    1. Provide accurate demographic information, including full name, age, address, contact number, email ID, emergency contact details, and relevant insurance, employer, or TPA information.

    2. Share complete and truthful medical history, including details of previous illnesses, medications, allergies, past investigations, and any existing medical conditions.

    3. Actively participate in your care plan, follow the prescribed treatment, and communicate openly with your doctors and nurses about its effectiveness or any concerns.

    4. Attend all scheduled appointments, and inform the hospital in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel.

    5. Respect the rights and privacy of fellow patients, visitors, and hospital staff, and treat everyone with courtesy, kindness, and dignity.

    6. Comply with hospital policies and safety protocols, including those related to infection control, visiting hours, and restrictions on carrying weapons into the premises.

    7. Avoid bringing valuables to the hospital, and take responsibility for the safety of your personal belongings.

    8. Refrain from smoking, chewing tobacco, or consuming alcohol within the hospital premises, as it is a strictly no-tobacco and alcohol-free zone.

    9. Provide honest and complete information to your insurance provider, enabling smooth processing of claims.

    10. Ensure timely settlement of financial obligations related to your care, treatment, or hospitalization.

    11. Understand that emergency cases may be prioritized, and cooperate during such situations.

    12. Respect hospital property and belongings of others, and avoid causing any damage or disruption.

    13. Accept the hospital’s measures for protecting your privacy and confidentiality of medical records and personal information.

    14. Inform healthcare staff immediately if you experience any unexpected changes in your condition or if treatment is not proceeding as expected.

    15. Read and understand all instructions before signing any consent forms. Ask for clarifications if you have any doubts.
