In protest against the alleged assault on doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals at the Municipal Hospital in Dombivli, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Maharashtra, has announced a statewide suspension of routine medical services for 24 hours.
The strike will commence at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, 20 July 2026, and will continue until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 21 July 2026.
In support of this statewide protest, the Outpatient Department (OPD) services at Holy Spirit Hospital will remain closed during this period. However, Emergency Services and all life-saving medical treatments will continue to function without any interruption.
The objective of this decision is to ensure that the healthcare sector remains free from violence, that justice is delivered to the victims, and that doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and all healthcare professionals are provided with a safe, respectful, and fear-free working environment. This movement is in the interest of justice, safety, and a stronger healthcare system.
