Pain Management
Overview
Chronic pain is defined as any pain that lasts or recurs. Unlike Acute pain which is a signal to warn the body and prevent further damage, chronic pain serves no purpose and is in fact disturbing, nagging affecting the activity of Daily living (ADL)and Quality of life(QOL)of both the individual and family members.
Hence, chronic pain needs to be treated to prevent psychosocial changes in the individual.
