Dr. Shamila Mohamed Ali is a Consultant Histopathologist and Cytopathologist with nearly a decade of robust, multidisciplinary experience spanning diagnostic histopathology, oncopathology, and cytology. Renowned for her clinical precision, academic excellence, and commitment to innovation, she brings a well-rounded and forward-thinking approach to modern diagnostic pathology. She holds an M.D. in Pathology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, where she secured 5th rank in the university. She further attained the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Pathology and Diplomateship in Pathology (DipRCPath) from the Royal College of Pathologists, United Kingdom, reflecting her alignment with international standards in pathology practice. Dr Shamila’s clinical expertise includes comprehensive histopathological interpretation of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases, cytopathological analysis including FNAC and Pap smears, frozen section diagnosis, and immunohistochemistry. Her areas of interest are gynaecological, gastrointestinal and head and neck oncopathology. Her extensive diagnostic exposure at leading institutions such as Sagar Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, and Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai, has enabled her to handle complex and high-volume pathology with expertise and confidence. She has further enriched her professional skill set attending CME’s and workshops at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, in highly specialized areas including Digital Pathology, PD-L1 testing, Gynaecologic Oncology and Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Additionally, she has completed an observership in Molecular Pathology and FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) at SRL Diagnostics, Goregaon, gaining valuable exposure to precision diagnostics and personalized cancer testing. An active contributor to medical literature, she has authored peer-reviewed articles in prestigious PubMed-indexed journals such as the Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology and the Journal of Neurosciences in Rural Practice, particularly on rare and diagnostically challenging cases. Complementing her clinical credentials, Dr Shamila holds a certification in Healthcare Management from the Indian School of Business (ISB), equipping her with strategic insights into hospital administration, quality systems, and leadership in healthcare delivery.
